29 week update

First off, sorry about the lack of blogging the past month and a half.  It has been super busy and time has gotten away from us.  The past month has been great.  We have spent time in Beaufort, Charleston, and Pawley’s Island in search of some much needed coastal relaxation.  During all of this time in the Lowcountry, the main thing that kept resonating in my mind was that the next time I come here Aubrey will be with us!

Our nursery is coming along well.  We have the crib, dresser/changing table, and rocker.  The room is painted and I finished the stripes last night.  I will get Jessica to post a few pictures in the next couple of days.

Over the past few months, we have received several helpful tips that will hopefully help us once Aubrey gets here.  Several people have told us to “SLEEP NOW” because once Aubrey is here you will need it!  We have heard that we should set specific “visiting hours” while we are in the hospital post-birth so that we can have some time to ourselves.  What else…oh yeah, we have heard (and read) that it is important that we do not get into the habit of rocking Aubrey to sleep and letting her sleep in our arms.  Jason (our brother in law) said that it is important to get her to sleep and immediately put her in her crib.  This way, she won’t freak out during the middle of the night when she wakes up in a place that is different than where she fell asleep.  It all sounds simple enough…but I know that it is going to be a lot of work.  Wayne Cole (our Associate Pastor) always says, “it’s all that easy and it’s all that hard”.  I am guessing that no matter what advice we get it truly will be “all that easy and all that hard”.

Since we are on the subject of advice, Jessica and I figured it would be cool if we could get our blog readers (do we have any readers?) to give us some advice.  This is your opportunity to contribute to our blog if you wish.  If you want, please provide your best piece of advice for us!

One last thing….in the spirit of football….Aubrey sure is picking a great time to be born!  I can’t wait to hold her while I am watching my Gamecocks make a run at a SEC championship!  Go Gamecocks!
